European Taster – 8 Day Tour

This European Taster – 8 Day Tour is a great way to see a good part of Europe in a short period of time. This 8 day tour visits many exciting cities allowing groups the opportunity to experience the culture from each country. Two full days in the City of Light – Paris is our starting point of this tour and it exemplifies a modern and historical city with so many things to see and do.

Our tour also takes us to the Swiss city of Lucerne and a tour of the Swiss Alps showcasing some of the best scenery and dramatic views in all of Europe. We will also travel to the Rhine Valley and the German city of Cologne with its impressive cathedral and historic old town.

No European tour would be complete without visiting the Dutch capital- Amsterdam. Learn about the rich history and culture whilst enjoying the canal-lined streets of this great city before visiting Belgium. The tours final stop is in the city of Bruges which is an incredibly well preserved medieval city with historical old town full of fine Belgian treats like chocolate and waffles.

Example itinerary

Day 1

Evening: Departure from your school and overnight travel to France by coach.

Day 2

Morning: Arrival at The Eiffel Tower in the morning with time to ascend to the first level or the very top.

Afternoon:Enjoy your time visiting one of the many sights of the city.

Evening: Check-in at hotel followed by evening Illuminations tour to see the City of Light illuminated.

Day 3

Morning: After breakfast, check-out of hotel and travel to Versailles to see the magnificent palace of Louis XIV or free day in Paris.

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring Versailles or Paris at your leisure.

Evening:Evening arrival at accommodation in for overnight stay

Day 4

Morning: After an early breakfast we start travelling to Switzerland and the city of Lucerne.

Afternoon: Admire the stunning Swiss landscape en-route to accommodation.

Evening:Evening in Lucerne exploring the city.

Day 5

Morning: After breakfast we travel to the Swiss Alps as we wind our way through the dramatic Swiss countryside.

Afternoon: Afternoon free time to ascend a glacier and try traditional Swiss food.

Evening:Evening return back to accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 6

Morning: After breakfast we set off to the Rhine Valley and the city of Cologne.

Afternoon: See the impressive Cologne Cathedral, chocolate museum or visit one of the many museums in the area.

Evening:Evening gathering and travel to accommodation.

Day 7

Morning: After breakfast we travel to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. With its 17th century architecture, world-class museums, and charming canal-lined streets, this city is truly fascinating. We will start exploring the city by going on a canal boat cruise.

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon at your leisure exploring Amsterdam.

Evening:Evening  Red Light District tour and overnight stay.

Day 8

Morning: After breakfast we will visit a traditional Dutch farm for a cheese and clogging making presentation followed by travel to Bruges.

Afternoon: Walking tour of Bruges. See this well preserved medieval city with its many sites and shops with fine Belgian choclates and waffles.

Evening:Travel back to the Port of Calais for Channel crossing back to England followed by travel to school. Return to will be in the morning hours of the next day.

Eiffel Tower- Paris
The Pyrenees & Coastal Catalonia– Located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most well known structures in the world.
– It is named after Gustave Eiffel, whose company was in charge of the project.
– The Eiffel Tower is 320 metres (1050 feet) in height.
– The Eiffel Tower is made of iron and weighs around 10000 tonnes.
– Eiffel Tower has had over 250 million visitors since its opening.
– Visitors can climb up stairs to the first two levels or take a lift which also has access to the third and highest level.

Palace of Versailles- Paris

Louvre Museum- Paris

Sacre Coeur- Paris

Constructed from 1875-1914, it is a double monument, political and cultural, and located in the most rebellious neighbourhood Montmartre.

Swiss Museum of Transport- Lucerne

Chapel Bridge- Lucerne

Dam Square- Amsterdam
