Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, is a large city long associated with the automobile industry. It is sometimes called the, “cradle of the automobile” because 2 of the most famous German car brands are based here and the focal point of this tour.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum is a fascinating automobile museum dedicated to this German automobile giant and all brands in the Daimler AG Group. The current building is a modern and technological design masterpiece and stands directly outside the main Mercedes-Benz Plant in Stuttgart. The exterior design is of three overlapping circles with an expansive triangular atrium in the centre. Inside you can find over 160 vehicles dating back to the earliest period of the automobile and some of the rarest Mercedes cars in the world. Guided tours of the facilities in a variety of languages are available. Additionally, visitors can take a tour of the nearby Untertürkheim engine factory. The factory produces many of the company’s diesel engines.

The Porsche Museum is another German design masterpiece nearby the Porsche factory and headquarters. The museum space covers 5600 square metres and inside holds many rare and historical cars such as the 1100 hp Porsche 917/30 Spider, Porsche 917 Long coupé, Porsche 356 Roadster, and many more from the Porsche brand as well as over 80 exhibits.
