This tour visits several historic towns such as Angers, Saumer, and Tours. These towns were the place where the kings of France and French aristocracy settled. Today, the well-preserved splendour and extravagance can still be seen in these towns.

Example itinerary

Day 1	Evening: Departure from your school and overnight travel to Loire Valley in France by coach.
Day 2	Morning: Begin the day with walking tour of Tours. Afternoon:Spend the afternoon with your study group at a sight in Tours. Evening: Check-in at our hotel with optional dinner. Evening settling down period. Overnight stay.
Day 3	Morning: After breakfast we depart from hotel and travel to nearby Amboise, Angers or Saumur. Afternoon: Spend the afternoon on a study visit in one of these cities. Evening: Departure from town centre in the early evening and travel back to accommodation. Overnight stay.
Day 4	Morning: After breakfast, group check-out of accommodation and travel to Calais for Channel crosssing Arrival back in home town or school in the evening. End of Tour.

Sights & places of interest in the Loire Valley

Château at Amboise

This former royal residence located in Amboise, in the Loire Valley was the favoured royal residence of of several Frence kings including King Charles VIII who died in the chateau after hitting his head there. It was was built on the River Loire as a stratigic fortification along the river.

Château de Valençay

Once called, “one of the most beautiful manors on Earth” this chateau overlooks the Nahon River and was constructed in 1540 under the order Jacques d’Estampes.

Fontevraud Abbey

Situated between Chalonnes-sur-Loire and Sully-sur-Loire in the Loire Valley, this monastery was first constructed between 1110 and 1119 for the Order of Fontevrault.
