This medieval castle dates back to the time of William the Conqueror when in 1068 he built a fortification here on a bend of the River Avon. Throughout its history it has undergone numerous reconstruction and been refortified many times. The castle has been open to the public since the end of the 17th century and houses one of the finest collections of armoury in Great Britain. It has consistently been in the Top 10 of historic houses and monuments in Great Britain and has been voted Britain’s best castle.
Throughout the year, Warwick Castle hosts many events and shows which include “Flight of the Eagles” ( a bird of prey show), archery displays, Jousting, “The Trebuchet Show” ( the largest catapult in the world), and the “The Sword in the Stone Show”. School groups of all ages and disciplines are sure to find this visit educational and worthwhile.
Day 1 | Morning: Departure from school and travel to Warwickshire for entrance into Warwick Castle. Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring the castle and castle grounds. Evening: Evening departure from Warwick Castle and travel back to school. End of Tour. |
